As this may come as a shock for many, Joanie had  quietly battled cancer over the last 2 1/2 years. She continued to work until the end of this November when she stepped down to spend time with family. Joanie worked for SOSA for over 16 years with many board members and clubs. Although basketball was Joanie’s “first” sport we adopted her into the soccer community where she quickly became a passionate advocate.
