On Thursday, November 22nd, Ontario Soccer announced the Mentee Coaches for the 2019 Female Coach Mentorship Program. Liana Ouellette, from Kingston United Soccer Club, was selected as one of these Mentee Coaches.
In total, seven female coaches were selected from across the province, to take part in
this one-on-one coach development opportunity. Other applicants to the program
will receive group instruction through workshops, practical instruction, and consistent performance feedback.
The Female Mentorship Program is designed to develop senior female coaches,
who wish to further develop and progress their coaching careers. The mentorship
program is part of a holistic, support system, approach to enabling promising
coaches across the province to reach their full coaching potential in the sport.
Annually, Ontario Soccer seeks applications for Mentee Coaches. They must be
working toward their National C or B Coaching Licenses. The seven coaches are
selected based on their experience, potential, and the recommendations supporting
their application. The selected applicants will be developed in the Ontario Soccer
mentoring program under the guidance of the Ontario Soccer Coach Development team
and the Female Head Mentor Coach, Connie Marshall.
Successful candidates
are required to commit to a 9-month program on a volunteer basis.
